Fly Fishing Clothing, Hats and Rain Gear

The Kootenai River in Montana

All to often, anglers use anything that happens to be hanging in the closet or the hat rack when getting ready to head our for a day of fly fishing. And, in warmer weather, what you wear really isn't all that important (other than the waders and wading boots, of course).

That all changes, though, when the weather turns foul. During either cold or wet weather, or a combination of the two, having normal street clothes on is a sure fire recipe for a miserble fly fishing experience. During less than ideal weather, having good quality fly fishing clothing can really make the difference between being able to stay out on the river for long periods of time and hanging out in your vehicle trying to stay warm.

So, if you plan on fly fishing during either wet or cold weather, do yourself and a favor and get some good fly fishing clothing that will keep your warm and dry. Having the right clothing can immensely help in paving the way for enjoyable fly fishing trips.

All of the clothing shown below is available through Cabela's.
